This is a lovely garden with a café just one minute walk from Kaptensvillan. Both the garden and the main building has remained intact since the 19th century and is an example of how the lower aristocracy lived. During the summer famous Swedish comedians put on a popular slapstick comedy show here.

A lovely popular beach with the view of Kalmars neighbour, Öland, and the castle, only a 3 minute stroll from Kaptensvillan. It has a long pontoon stretching far into the water, a sandy beach, a kiosk and WC are available.
If you wish to play beach volleyball, train at an outdoor gym or jump from a diving tower follow the path next to Kalmarsunds parken south until you can’t go south anymore, this recreational area is called Långviken. (about 25 minute walk from Kaptensvillan.)

Kalmar Läns Museum
Experience the thrilling account of Sweden's most impressive ship during its period as a great power, a ship that exploded and sank in 1676 and was rediscovered in 1980. More than 30,000 artifacts have been salvaged from the wreck site outside Öland, including Sweden's largest gold coin treasure. You can see some thousands of the coins here.
