About us

After living 16 years in the Middle-East, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar, we have returned to Sweden and Kalmar. We are looking forward to developing and running the Bed & Breakfast at Kaptensvillan with the same family honour as the previous owners, Annica Triberg and Albert Håkansson.

Marika is born and raised in Kalmar whereas John spent his earlier years just outside Stockholm. After starting a family in 1989 we moved to Linköping thereafter we packed our bags in 1995 and moved to the Middle-East where John worked as a doctor and Marika devoted herself to the children as well as association and voluntary work.

After many interesting and exciting years abroad it is a privilege to return to Sweden and come home to the different seasons, picking berries, wandering in the forest and of course family and friends. We especially look forward to meeting you as our guests in our Bed & Breakfast! Our goal is that you feel satisfied with your visit and feel welcome to return to Kaptensvillan the next time you visit Kalmar.
